Support » Need Updated Video Drivers?

Try to update your drivers here first:

  • ATI Desktop Graphics drivers here, Mobile graphics see below. Windows 7 users with ATI cards should install generic drivers at the bottom of this page.
  • nVidia Graphics drivers here
  • Intel Graphics drivers search here or auto-detect

Why do I need to update my video drivers?

BumpTop uses OpenGL to render its rich environment. Unfortunately, not all computers have an updated video driver that works with BumpTop - so a simple software download will ensure the best possible experience. Not having updated drivers may result in choppy video, visual glitches, crashes, as well as screen flicker.

You can also pick the driver that most closely matches your system configuration:

In almost all cases, you will have to manually install the drivers below - running the included setup may not work.

How do I (manually) install video drivers?

Most drivers can just be installed from the downloaded file. On some mobile/laptop systems, you'll have to manually install the driver by specifying the driver in Device Manager in Control Panel.

  1. Download the driver package and extract its contents into a temporary folder on your desktop. If the package is an EXE file, a program like WinRAR will allow you to extract its contents.
  2. Next, open Control Panel, System, and go into Device Manager. Find the Display Adapter, right click it and select Properties.
  3. On the Driver Tab, click "Update Driver"
  4. In the dialog box that opens, click "Browse my computer for driver software"
  5. Then, "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
  6. In the screen that opens, click "Have Disk", and feed it the path to where you extracted the folders in the first step
  7. The drivers will install - a reboot may be necessary.

Not in the list?

  • Intel integrated graphics users: OpenGL 2.0 support is available since Vista v15.11 drivers and XP v14.36 drivers, so anything newer should work.
  • ATI discrete graphics users: ATI X300 or newer should work fine. Simply download the latest driver available from ATI
  • nVidia discrete graphics users: Any nVidia GeForce 6200 or newer card should work fine. Simply download the latest video driver available from nVidia
